Jacob Matthew Daniel is a 6 years old kindergartner. Three weeks ago, Jacob was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma cancer. He recently finished his first round of chemotherapy.
When Jacob started school this year, he began complaining of back pain. His parents took him to the doctor, & diagnoses was thought to be normal aches and pains associated with being more active than usual in gym and recess. Several weeks later, the pain was so severe that his parents took him to the hospital E.R. Overnight, the world changed for Jacob and his family.
Jacob has never been a sickly child, so this has just been an unbelievable shock for our family and friends. Jacob loves Legos, watching movies, reading, coloring, and playing games with his big sister, Lindsey. Jacob loves going to school, but he is unable to attend right now. When Jacob feels up to it, he likes to go to his favorite restaurants, McDonald’s & Casa Ole, to eat. He also wants to be a doctor "when he grows up," so he can buy his Mom, Suzy, "all the jewelry she wants."
Jacob's dad, Darrin, has had to take a leave of absence from his job, so he can take care of Lindsey. He has not gotten a paycheck in three weeks, and money has gotten very tight for Jacob's family. Besides the everyday financial expenditures of groceries, mortgage, and car payments, they are now financially burdened with the “fees” of simply visiting their son: tolls, parking, and gas…not to mention the medical bills that are pouring in.
If you read Jacob's story, and you would like to donate to help our beloved nephew and his family, any amount is greatly appreciated. All donations, monetary and prayers, are greatly appreciated. Thanks and God Bless.
