Help Sarah Get A Home

Hello, my name is Sarah Gethers. If you know me, you know my most recent life changes have consisted of moving out on my own, running for local office, leaving the states to live in Italy... and after some traumatizing events, I am back in the States looking for a new place to call home. I witnessed some disturbing behavior within the host family I was living with and the actions I took in an attempt to protect the children involved, led to me being left in Texas while my host family flew back to Milan without me.

 

I’ve landed in NYC by way of God’s grace and amazing friends. As many of you know, it is not a renter’s market right now. I obviously do not have the pay stubs, high salary, or money for numerous application fees that would be necessary to do a proper apartment search. But, I have the opportunity to sublet in a space I am currently in. A space where I am with people who care about my wellbeing. A space that has a semblance of safety… for the first time in a long time, but I’d have to provide rent and a security deposit by February 1st.

 

Asking for money or adequate pay has always been a difficult thing for me to do and I usually (miraculously) find a way to make ends meet, but I need some extra help right now. I’ve already secured work and therefore income for the upcoming months, but right now I have nothing. I will need an address to get all my belongings shipped from Milan. I will need an address in order to fill out basic paperwork for my future direct deposit payments. I will need an address in order to move forward in my life.
