As Salaam Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,
We hope this message reaches you well. We are hoping to raise funds to build a youth hub in our community. The Gambian Canadian Youth Association is a community-focused youth group founded in Toronto, Canada in 2015. Our mission is to empower our youth and provide a safe space for them to prosper and inspire others to do the same.
Our Masjid, Jamaat Ul Islamiah is located in North York and has been around since the late 1990s. It was established by first-generation immigrants from a predominantly West African background. The mosque has taught youth from all walks of life about Islam; now we are in the works of building a multifaceted Islamic Centre for all. The center will include a madrasa, Islamic school, and many more services, but currently, our focus is to incorporate a youth hub within the community but we can’t complete the center without your help!
The funds raised will go towards renovating two existing buildings on the property that are currently not in use, as well as towards providing technology and furnishing the space. Please connect with us on social media for updates on the project and more!
