My name is Maria Alducin and I am the Montrose Studios owner in Houston. I want to apologize for not being able to open back up at the moment. The reason why I was unable to do so is because of a condition I developed due to some antibiotics I took.

I want to thank all the people who have asked me how I am. I am sure people have questions, so I want to tell my story and explain why I need stem cell therapy.

I was prescribed an antibiotic called Cipro for a UTI in March. Cipro is in a class of medications called Fluoroquinolones.

I had a severe reaction to these meds. I have what is called fluoroquinolone toxicity or mitochondria toxicity. The toxicity also triggered autoimmune symptoms. I have impaired vision, tendinitis, fatigue, gastrointestinal issues, chemical and food sensitivities, thyroid and hormone imbalances, sensory issues, muscle weakness and peripheral neuropathy done by these antibiotics as consequence of an induced brain injury.

My symptoms and neuropathy continue to get worse because Cipro strips the body of essential vitamins and nutrients, alters the DNA of cells so abnormal cells regenerate, and it affects how numerous systems in the body function.

 I was an independent person. Now, I need assistance with simple daily tasks and can’t focus I want to do this treatment so I can get some resemblance of my life back. I miss being a business owner, sister, friend. I want to get back to doing what I love. I know everyone still accepts and loves me, but I want to be able to care for myself physically and participate in life with them again. Getting to California to receive stem cell treatment is a chance for me to do that.

There are few treatments available for the toxicity. A doctor in California, named Dr. Mark Ghalili does stem cell therapy for this condition. He himself was in a wheelchair from this toxicity, and is now walking and treating people with this condition. The stem cells will be harvested from my own tissue. My insurance will not cover this treatment, and I am unable to work right now.

It is difficult asking for help, and I genuinely understand if people are unable to right now. Prayers and awareness are just as valuable.

PLEASE share the dangers of Cipro and fluoroquinolones. It is a failed chemotherapy drug and potent enough to treat anthrax. It has multiple black box warnings, and the FDA stated it should only be used as a last resort when all other means of treatment have been exhausted, yet it is still being prescribed regularly as a first resort treatment for common issues like UTI, sinus infections, ear infections and other bacterial infections. I was not properly informed of these dangers before taking it, and I am learning so many others are not told. I realize it is hard to comprehend an antibiotic could do this. It can and is still on the market.

Ciprofloxacin is found in oral medications, eye drops and ear drops. Not everyone will have the same reaction I did or may not have a reaction at all, but it is never worth the risk. There are so many alternatives. It isn’t worth it. Please spread awareness! I learned the hard way about the dangers of these antibiotics. I don’t want this happening to other people.

Let’s spread the word and pray these medications are taken off the market!
