Gear Knobs: Poles of Inconvenience

Donation protected
Thank you for taking the time to visit our GoFundMe page.

Us trio of idiots are attempting, and I mean attempting to drive "ELY' the Morris Oxford 16,000 miles. A mixture of prime British engineering , rust and some bloody good duct tape.

The road trip is organised (well, sort of) by a company called The Adventurists, who also put on the famous Mongolian Rally. We're doing what's known as the 'Poles of Inconvenience', which is a basically a load of points dotted across Europe and Northern Africa. The more poles you visit the more points you get! There is no route or any form of guidance on offer. The whole mission is for charity, with a £1000 goal for each team to fundraise. We have decided to raise money for SSAFA and Park Lane Special School.

For more info on SSAFA and Park Lane, please see the information below.

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, has been providing lifelong support to our Forces and their families since 1885. Last year our teams of volunteers and employees helped more than 79,500 people in need, from Second World War veterans to young men and women who have served in more recent conflicts, and their families.

Park Lane Special School is a school for children with special needs in Macclesfield and the surrounding area. They offer a curriculum that meets the age and learning needs of all pupils. Once pupils leave Park Lane School they will be confident and ready to take the next step in their life, be it a new school, college or learning in the community.
