Gears in Action Racing

Gears in Action Racing is a 501c3 youth mountain bike sports team. Our organization is committed to developing and empowering our riders to become future leaders and athletes through racing. The team aims to instill an understanding of health and fitness, team building, life skills and sportsmanship. 

Gears In Action Racing will be offering high-quality coaching and support as well as, bicycle repair services at races all along the east coast. This support is intended to make sure families with children who have a passion for mountain bike racing are riding bicycles that are set up properly and safe to ride. Our coaches will be reviewing race courses with the riders, giving advice, and ensuring that riders are using proper form and technique.

As a non-profit program, fundraising is an essential part of a successful team. We are based in Vernon, NJ with Mountain Creek as our home base; however, the two race series which the team will be focusing on are, The Eastern States Cup and the Downhill Southeast series. Both race series run races up and down the east coast in states from Tennessee to Maine. The team will also be participating in the USA cycling national held at Mountain Creek Bike Park in Vernon, NJ and the FOX US Open of Mountain Biking in Killington, Vermont. Travel fees paired with race fees and equipment to participate in these races are very costly. Our program relies heavily on monetary donations from sponsors to reduce these costs.
