Geeky In Pink - A University of Rhode Island Short Film

Intro:

Are you a fan of 80s inspired rom-com clichés? Then this project is right up your alley! We are a team of students studying film at the University of Rhode Island, working to create a large-scale collaborative film within our school curriculum. This year is the second bi-annual running of this film production course that mimics real-world production and we are excited to be back! We hope to bring back the cliques, cliches, and 80s vibes, but with a modern spin to it.

Logline:

“An 80s obsessed young woman finds her teenage dreams in jeopardy when her best friend and crush is asked to the prom.”

Synopsis:

Beverly has a secret. And it’s not that she’s hopelessly geeky or obsessed with 80s movies, those are obvious. Beverly has a crush on her best friend, the catholic guilt-ridden Mina. When Mina is asked to the prom by hunky quarterback Jason Collins, Beverly is forced to put her fantasies aside and find the courage to tell Mina how she really feels- even if it means losing her forever.

Progress:

We are currently in the post-production phase of creating Geeky in Pink! After two long, tireless, and creative weekends, we, as a team, were able to shoot all of our scenes. All of our audio and footage has been handed off to our post production team to start working and finalizing our edit.
