Help Mikhayla & Sierra Restore Erie’s Gem City Skate Floor

Hi, I’m Jeni Lanier, and I’m organizing this fundraiser for Mikhayla and Sierra Dugan, the dedicated couple behind Gem City Skate. They are not only passionate small business owners but true local heroes who have given so much without ever asking for anything in return.

Mikhayla and Sierra moved to Erie in May 2024 to take on the challenge of turning around a struggling roller rink, and they’ve been working tirelessly ever since. Their vision is to create a fun, family-friendly space for the community, and despite the rink’s challenges, they’ve been doing everything in their power to make that dream a reality. They’ve dramatically improved the atmosphere of the rink, and customers are already loving the changes they’ve made so far.

But that’s just part of their story. In September 2024, Mikhayla and Sierra risked their lives to rescue a child from a house fire. While sadly, one child's life was lost, their quick thinking and selflessness saved a life. Even with everything they’re facing at the rink, they didn’t hesitate to organize a fundraiser for the young boy they saved—because that’s who they are. They give without asking for anything in return, and they put others first, no matter the cost.

Now it’s our turn to step up for them. The rink is in an old building that needs some major updates, and the most pressing issue is restoring its beautiful, historic maple rotunda floor. Fixing the floor will help bring more visitors and keep Gem City Skate thriving so Mikhayla and Sierra can continue serving this community they’ve grown to love.

They would never ask for this help themselves, but I know the community can come together to support them, just like they’ve supported so many others. The funds raised will go directly to the floor restoration and other key improvements like new rental skates and facility upgrades.
