Gemma and Sam and the start of our journey to IVF
Donation protected
We are a couple just at the start of our journey with many adventures yet to come. My name is Gemma and my partner's name is Sam. We have been trying for a few years and pre-Covid we underwent all the necessary tests to be told that we have unexplained infertility, like so many unlucky others in the World. While there is still a chance that we might conceive naturally and of course we keep our fingers crossed monthly, time is a factor and is a worry of ours.
It is for this reason that we are starting the route towards IVF treatment, because even that avenue comes with the worry that the longer we wait the less effective it becomes. While I have two wonderful teenagers this means that the NHS will sadly not support us. This leaves us in a difficult situation because right now we are not in a viable position financially to outlay such a large sum for private IVF treatment. We are doing everything we can to raise money but Covid is causing so many problems. IVF can be painful and difficult but we have been told we stand a good chance of conceiving. There will be a lot of heartache but we remain strong and hopeful.
This is why we are opening our hearts and our vulnerabilities to all of you, because we hope that with enough support we can realize our dream of expanding our family. I do understand the difficult situation the NHS are in but I also don't want to deprive my partner the chance to have his own children.
Thankyou
Gemma and Sam
