Gemma Evans - Welsh Three Peaks Challenge
Donation protected
I am a current Wales and Reading international footballer who, along with a group of friends, will be taking part in the Welsh three peaks challenge on 10 June to raise money for Tŷ Pentwyn nursing home and Still Me, Pontypridd.
Dementia is a disease that has impacted myself and my family in recent years, having affected my Mamo who required regular care from my family and support workers. Organizations such as Tŷ Pentwyn nursing home and Still Me help improve the quality of life for those suffering with the disease and offer invaluable support for families affected. I see the Welsh three peaks as an opportunity to give back to them and to help with all their hard work.
The Welsh three peaks is a challenge to walk a distance of 20.35 miles, making a total ascent of 9,397ft (2,864m) to reach the summits of Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen-Y-Fan. Josh, Jake, Greg and myself (along with Dury the driver) will look at reaching all three summits in the space of 24 hours.
