On Thursday 22nd August our beautiful friend Gemma died unexpectedly and everything changed forever. Gemma, Jon, Edie and Walt were a team - everything they did, they did together.
Nothing can fix what has happened to this incredible family, their world has been destroyed, but we want to help them as much as we can. We know absolutely loads of people feel the same so we feel this is one of the best ways for us to do that right now.
We're not quite sure what the next few weeks, months and years will look like but we know as a family they will want to remember Gemma, their mummy and wife as much as possible.
The children have already suggested planting a tree. This is something Gemma would have loved as she loved being outside, getting her fresh air fix as often as possible and going on long walks.
As a family they have so many memories in lots of special places, so when the time is right, a trip to Richmond or Cornwall would be a precious time to not only remember, but to begin to make new memories too. Everybody knows Gemma loved holidays. It would make her so immensely happy to think of her wonderful little family paddling in the river or jumping off the harbour wall into the sea again.
We can't believe we are writing these words. None of this feels real still. Gemma was always so full of life, so happy, so funny, so kind. And the best mummy Edie and Walt could ever wish for. We all miss Gemma so much. Life can be so unimaginably cruel sometimes but we know Jon and his family have felt so much love and care over the past few weeks and he is so grateful for everybody's kind words.
Please share happy memories of your times with Gemma so that when able to do so Gemma's family can see how loved she was and how far reaching her love was.
