Genalyn R. Baltazar Memorial Fund
Donation protected
After braving her battle with cancer, Genalyn became an angel in heaven on Saturday, July 14, 2018.
Genalyn Rocha Baltazar was an extraordinary wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She had a bachelor’s degree in Biology at UCSD becoming the first person in her family to earn a college degree. She went on to do HIV research at the Salk Institute in the Bushman Lab. Always looking forward, she married her college sweetheart, Dennis, and started a family.
A mother of four, Genalyn was the matriarch of the family and was devoted to them. It was five years ago after giving birth to her 4th child that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Cancer did not stop Genalyn from her daily activities as she continued to volunteer at her eldest daughters' dance recitals, support her middle children's volleyball and soccer games, and caring for her youngest child while studying and passing her real estate exam to begin her career.
Genalyn was a cancer fighter and loved her family. She wouldn't have wanted anything more than to provide her family with a life filled with love, laughter and faith in God.
All donations will be used to cover funeral expenses and to help her children adjust to life without her.
Genalyn will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
