Gender affirming care for Jude
Donation protected
My name is Jude.
Like so many trans and neurodivergent people in Ireland, I face significant barriers to healthcare. I’ve been on the National Gender Service waiting list since 2019, with no sign of movement. If I eventually do get an appointment with the NGS, I will face intrusive psychiatric evaluations, and risk having my identity invalidated and even having care withheld due to my neurotype.
It is for these reasons that I have decided to take control of my own care. I have been accessing trans healthcare privately for 18 months now, and every day I find myself closer to living as my authentic self. I have also had a private consultation with the Adult Autism Practice, during which it was confirmed that I would benefit from a full series of assessments.
I am asking for help in reaching my goal of €4000. Like most trans and neurodiverse people, I have always struggled to find suitable, stable employment, and will never be able to afford this amount myself. If I can reach my fundraising goal, it will quite literally change my life.
If you can, please help me by donating or sharing.
Love,
Jude
