Gene Garber Family Emergency

Hello Friends and family,

Many of you know, but many may not. On November 8th, 2023 dad/pops (Gene) was traveling from North Dakota to visit family in Nevada and Arizona. After he departed from Las Vegas, he stopped off the highway to assist a woman with a baby on her hip and flashers on. The woman sadly turned out to be a criminal with several firearms and children in her vehicle. She proceeded to shoot Gene in the head and she stole his vehicle. He was life flighted to UMC trauma center in Las Vegas. Thankfully, he is recovering and will survive. Unfortunately, Gene does not have medical insurance and his family is struggling with finances being they have to travel to and from Nevada and North Dakota and eventually transport him home. This also requires time off work to make the travel. We are trying to keep his bills paid and get him insurance through Nevada but up until then nothing is paid. We have no idea what all is ahead and he will have a long road for rehabilitation. Anything helps and we appreciate everyone who has been supportive during this time.
