Gene Watkins - 5 month intubated Covid survivor

Gene Watkins went into the hospital late October 2020 with Covid symptoms. He was ventilated nov 1. He then was intubated a month later. He was under sedation for over 3 months while in ICU fighting for his life. April 1, exactly 5 months after being ventilated, Gene was sent home unable to still move his limbs to continue fighting for his rehabilitation.

He is working so hard and moved his feet last week! My mom, Tina is caring for him 24/7 as he needs 100% assistance. Praise the Lord he remains cognitively there and is the same ole Gene we know and love! This has been tremendously hard on them financially. Gene was and is a contractor so with him unable to work, I don’t want him to feel the pressure of doing anything, but focusing on rehabilitating.  If you know them well, then you know they aren’t the kind to ask for handouts. After 6 months of them making it out of savings and selling things, I am reaching out for help for them. If you know and love Gene and find it in your heart to lessen his burden, you will forever be appreciated. Your prayers throughout this entire unexpected battle with Covid has been so touching and my mom and Gene are indebted to you more than they could ever express.
