My sisters "Best Friend & "Love of her Life" was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer on September 4, 2017. On December 30, 2017 Gene passed away. Thank-you Gino for bringing such happiness into my sisters life & into our family. We are going to miss you so much!! We have comfort in knowing that you are with God in Paradise.

In November of 2016, Gene & Alyson moved to Manahawkin, NJ to start new life. They got settled into their home and Alyson found a new church to attend, Ocean Community Church. Gene was not a church going person. One day Gene decided that he would go to Church with Alyson. When service was over he couldn't stop talking about the message. The following Sunday, Gene was up & ready to go to Church. He devoted his life to Jesus. Gene started going to Bible Study, taught the kids how to make Spaghetti & Meatballs, fed the hungry & became close friends with the Paster. Gino had such a huge passion for cooking for his church and feeding those in need. Out of that passion came the dream to open Tasty Cheesecakes so that he could do just that, and create more opportunities to give back to the community. Gino loved feeding people and you could taste the love he put into everything he made. Sadly, right before the opening Gino was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer and Alyson immediately put her own career on hold. While in the hospital Gene educated Alyson on running a business and how to make his Tasty Cheesecakes. At this point they had already put all of their life savings and took out loans to get the business started. Nobody could have imagined that things would have taken a turn for the worst possible outcome so quickly.

On December 8, 2017 Alyson opened Tasty Cheesecakes. I don't know how she did it. While running back & forth to the hospital, my sister was trying to keep Gene's dream alive. Gene got to see his dream come to life. Alyson is dedicated to keeping Gino's dream alive.
