Generosity in an unexpected emergency

Our anticipated family vacation was cut short when on Tuesday afternoon my mom tripped and fell. We rushed her to the hospital where we got the unexpected news that she had a fracture and required a hip replacement surgery. Although the surgery was a success, we are on a long road to recovery.

Fortunately, the team of doctors, nurses and physical therapists have been exceptional, and while we’re in the hospital she will continue to receive her therapy and attentions. However, it gets complicated. My mom is here with a tourist visa and once discharge from the hospital, she will require continuous assistance and care. To worsen things, the doctors advise that we wait a few more days before we do the drive back to Orlando. We would need to find a place to lodge for a couple of days here in Miami.

Once we are in Orlando the goal is to find a rehab facility to start therapy.
