Early Saturday morning our family lost 2 special pieces of our hearts. George and Becky Turnbo, mother and father of Jason Turnbo, Jeremy Turnbo, and Jennifer Rivera were called up to be with their Heavenly Father, alongside their beloved dog Bella. The three of them were found together by the West Memphis fire department. George and Becky Turnbo were full of love and joy. They cherished seeing all of their grandchildren and being with the family. They always knew how to make the entire room laugh and be joyful. As a family we are having a hard time dealing with this tragedy and finding a peace of mind. We are in the middle of an emotional storm right now. We all feel like we are drowning in sorrow, sadness, and emptiness. As every storm has the calm before and after, we try to hold our heads high looking for the calm. We pray God sends a crashing wave of peace as he has us all in his hands. Although we do not understand the how or the why, we understand we serve an awesome God who is bigger than any problem we may come across. Although we are saddened by the loss of them, we find a sense of comfort that they are all together in a much greater place. That is the way they would want it. We know this process and adjustment to our “new normal” will not be easy, but we know we can make it a little more easier for each other as a family being together. Jesus never promised that the crosses we carry would not get heavy, or the hills we must go through would not be hard to climb, but he promised He would always come in time. We as a family are asking for the community to offer anything they can and are willing to give. All proceeds will be going to the funeral arrangements. The leftover money will be used to a charity of fire prevention for seniors. The family cannot thank everyone enough for the thoughts, prayers, texts, and phone calls.
