George Baldock - A Banner for George from the fans

As most of you will know footballer George Baldock has tragically passed away in Athens on 9th October 2024.

George during his playing career spanning 402 games represented MK Dons, Northampton Town, IBV, Tamworth, Oxford United, Sheffield United and Panathinaikos.

It was with Sheffield United (The Blades) that George by his own admission made his mark representing the Blades in the Premier League and going onto represent Greece 12 times.

Recently George was voted in the Blades Team of the decade. George was loved and well respected by his team mates, management and all at the club during his 7 year stay up until his departure in the summer of 2024 for Greek club Panathinaikos.

George had an affinity with fans due to giving 110% every game combined with his skill and also valuable goals running down the wing from his defensive position, he became a fans favourite and reciprocated that by always having time for the fans stopping for photographs and a chat before and after matches.

If as a result of our fundraising efforts we have surplus funding available. In our commitment to giving back, we have decided to allocate this surplus to two additional charitable causes:

In memory of a beloved father Jonny Gasgoine and Blades community member, we are committed to donating funding to support his children. By investing in their future, we hope to honour their father's memory while ensuring that these young lives are supported and nurtured, allowing them to heal, grow, and thrive in a loving environment.
