Gone to soon, no one know the time or hour. Looking to a bright future, planning ways to continuing to thrive in life, watching his favorite sport, football, feeling a little tired, nurses coming to care for George, suddenly falls a sleep, George transitioned in his sleep, with the comfort of family. He was a Father, Companion, Brother, Friend and Mentor.
GEORGE L COMBS aka Big John has taken his last breath April 12, 2020 George has earned his wings. The Battle of cancer is over, he is at peace George Combs was a trooper he fought the good fight long and hard, 13 years battling cancer his Oncologist said he was a true soldier. He is no longer in pain.
George was 73 years young. His wishes were to have hospice and be home with family, as we did. George was the most caring and thoughtful person a true gentle giant. He could always spark a smile on anyone's face in the room with no effort. his murals and works of art could be seen throughout Altadena and Pasadena.
He had an amazing journey as a Master Renowned Artist and Educator helping youth and working in the community in places such as Blair High School, Marshal High School Norma Coombs, John Muir High School, Wilson Elementary, Pasadena High School, Pasadena Unified School District, Pasadena Parks and Recreation and Pasadena Cultural Affairs providing extraordinary projects in the Arts.
The financial assistance will cover funeral proceedings. No amount is to large or to small. Your donations, calls, love and support are sincerely appreciated.
