George & Emma

George was an empathetic soul from birth. He used to look at his sister with big blue eyes to ask if she was happy or sad. She would leave on a weekend trip, and when she returned, he would greet her with a glowing smile and big hug- happy to be back together again.

He had a quiet love for his family, but it was a big and strong one. Bigger than he knew what to do with at times.

When his dad fell ill with cancer, he took that love and put it into action. He delayed college to support his family. He traversed life’s joys and pitfalls with a calm and positive energy that combated the hardship he had faced.

George lost his dad. He forged ahead with strength and courage born from his childhood in the Alaskan wilderness and a family who loved bigger and more beautiful than mountains.

He tried life in many ways, as young people do. He lived with his mom in Alaska for a time. Then moved across the country to live with his sister in Texas. Then Minnesota. Searching for his place in life and his happiness.

He found it when he met Emma.

In Emma’s words, “my relationship with him seemed like a fairytale…too good to be true.” They had six perfect, wonderful years together. George had found his happiness. He found his connection.

Together they found their true loves.

But Emma’s words proved to be prophetic.

Last fall, George developed a treatment-resistant illness. So many methods were tried, and as a united force Emma and George fought so hard.

But the interventions were not effective, and the treatment and support they needed were not there for them. It takes a lot of stamina to keep getting up when you are ill. The pain became too
much, and their love story ended.

Now Emma is here in this world, loved and supported- surrounded by both a family she was born with- and one she was taken into. Welcomed as the soul who made George’s life complete. She is strong, brave, and a living testament to the type of love few people are lucky enough to have.

She is also left with a house, medical bills, animals and plans that were meant
to be fulfilled by two people. She needs our help.

In lieu of flowers, please consider offering your support to Emma. She is strong and brave, and she will move forward in this world in a way that honors George and his kind and giving heart.

A heart that wanted, above all, to love and cherish her always.

All donations, big or small, will be met with gratitude.

Thank you for your love and support towards Emma and George.
