It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of George Fernandez, a devoted father, a loyal friend, and a proud military veteran who served in the Philippines for eight years. His unwavering dedication to his family and community was evident in every aspect of his life.

As a single father, George worked tirelessly to provide a loving and nurturing environment for his 15-year-old daughter, Denise Margarette Fernandez. She was his pride and joy, and he made countless sacrifices to ensure she had a bright future. Despite the challenges he faced, his resilience and commitment never wavered.

In honor of George’s memory and to give him the farewell he deserves, our family is raising funds to cover funeral and memorial expenses, including the service, burial, and the repatriation of his body to the Philippines. His mother, siblings, and extended family are there, and it was his wish to return home. Any additional contributions will go toward supporting Margarette as she navigates life without her beloved father.

Following the services in Calgary, George will be brought home to the Philippines to be laid to rest with his family.

George's GoFundMe will remain open until May 15, with all proceeds dedicated to covering the costs of his return home and related expenses.
