George Luna and Sherry Luna

As many of you know, George Luna, athletic director at Bishop CISD, has been waiting to see if he qualifies for a liver transplant. Unfortunately, his doctors have discovered that he was born with an irregularity in one of his heart valves. It hasn’t been an issue up until now; however, he had an infection recently that did some major damage to his heart valve. In order to get his liver transplant, the valve would have to be repaired, but open-heart surgery isn’t an option at this time because of his liver disease. On Tuesday, December 12th, George will get results from a team of doctors who will make the final determination if the heart procedure will be possible. He’s currently waiting on a bed in a hospital in San Antonio, and hopefully, he’ll be on his way there today.

His journey has been a long one and has severely depleted the family’s resources. We’re asking for donations to help pay for medical and travel expenses. Anything you can contribute would be greatly appreciated.

Those of you who know George personally, also know that he has a big heart, and he’s always there to support anyone else who needs it. Now it’s time to help George and Sherry out.
