George Merz trip to Battle of the Bulge 2022

Hi, my name is Wanda Stump and I am fundraising to give WWII Veteran George Merz, 97 a trip back to his battlefields in Bastogne and Gouvy, Belgium where he was stationed in December, 1944 in the Battle of the Bulge.

We have received invitations to attend ceremonies and schools, but without insufficient funds, we will be unable to attend. While there on trips the veterans attend schools and ceremonies being recognized for the liberation of the country. The veterans share their stories educating the folks of their lives as a young soldier.

George was recognized last year in Gouvy, Belgium with a permanent plague on old train station building where he stood duty in 1944. December, 13th has been set as the George Merz Day in Gouvy.
