George “Mikey” Portillo & Monica Aguilar

It is with our deepest of sorrows to announce the deaths of our beloved brother, George Michael Portillo and cousin Monica Aguilar.

We are absolutely devastated by the loss of our beloved family members George & Monica, & are struggling to cover the funds to bring our late brother’s body back home to the US for a burial, as well as funeral costs for our cousin back home in El Salvador.

Our dear brother George, who we called “Mikey,” sadly lost his life along side our dear cousin Monica, while on a pilgrimage back home to our home country of El Salvador, where Monica and the majority of our family live. Due to the circumstances of this tragedy, we have come across the harsh reality of the expenses that come with losing family. This, and the fact that this happened outside of the US, we are desperately trying to find a way to bring our brother back home, and to also provide a proper burial for our dearly departed family members.

The Portillo-Aguilar family is currently asking for donations to cover these costs. We are aware of the current times, and the reality that we’re all still facing with the pandemic ongoing. Funds haven’t come easy for many of us, we understand and know that well. Please consider donating.Any bit of support would help our family greatly, and would be appreciated beyond words. We’re asking for any bit of support, love, prayers, just anything to help us get through this time.

George & Monica were both so amazing, and their light, it seemed at times would never stop shining. We pray that we can do right by them!
