George w. Lunger Jr. 1938-2024

Hello, I am raising funds for my good friend, George Lunger’s final expenses. I met George in October of 2022 during rescue and recovery efforts in Ft. Myers, FL following Hurricane IAN making landfall. George lost all his possessions and his house in the disaster. Unfortunately he was displaced and had no place he could stay. I made the decision to ask if he wanted to move and ultimately he said yes and moved to the Lafayette, Louisiana area. A big step for an elderly man with just a SS income. He lived out the last full year of his life surrounded with new friends and a few adventures. However he passed away with no savings and no way to cover funeral expenses. George was a good man who spent multiple years in the Air Force and Navy reserves. He was proud of being both a jet aircraft mechanic and a Seabee. Please consider honoring him and his life of service by donating to cover expenses for cremation and final relocation back to Florida for burial.
