George Zakrzewski Jr

Hi my name is Veronica Halley, (Vern) maiden name Zakrzewski. We have decided to raise some funds for My Brother George, while he’s going though one of the hardest times of his life. George has worked for the Magestic Casino and is currently still employed with Hard Rock as a security officer since the early 2000’s. Although he is on FMLA it is an UNPAID leave and has been out of work due to his medical condition since December. George’s medical bills have became massive and he’s had no income since then. We will be applying for SSI for him but who knows how that will go and it takes time.

Now Back in December a week before Christmas George’s foot became infected from a small cut he had on the bottom of his foot. He has neuropathy and diabetes so he was keeping an eye on it. His left foot became extremely swollen and his toes started to get gangrene so we rushed him to the hospital. Within a week they had removed the toes and half the foot on his left side hoping they had caught the disease before it had spread. They did not. Within a few days he had came septic, and went into congestive heart failure. He ended up having to get an angioplasty to try to open up the flow in his legs before they could continue to try to fix his remainder of his leg. The following day he went back into surgery and they ended up taking his left leg just right under the knee. He stayed in the hospital for another 3 weeks before he came home, not rehab. He was denied the rehab because of all the issues we were having with his insurance. Within the last week George has gotten sick again and is headed back into the hospital to have more of his leg removed on the left and checking out his right foot now because it’s turning purple. I have no further update on what medically they are doing yet but should know within the next week.

George has always been a Great Loving Friend to everyone he’s known and right now he needs some help from Family and Friends!! I’ll Update this post in a few days.
