George's Rockstars

George's Rockstars is set up in memory of the amazing Gorgeous George. George battled leukaemia 4 times from the age of 22 months and passed away aged 6 in August 2019. His long battle with cancer meant that George spent a large majority of his childhood in hospital but despite this was famed for his smile, cheeky personality and love of music and fancy dress.
During George's bone marrow transplant in Bristol Children's Hospital he was lucky to benefit from weekly music therapy sessions which made his long time in isolation much more bearable. George managed to go to a gig and meet his favourite band at 4 years old and went on to have his own drum kit, electric guitar and perform as Freddie Mercury in his very short time at school.
George's family see no fitter tribute to George than to set up a charity that will fund activities for sick children that will make them smile as George did, starting with funding music therapy at the two hospitals George spent most of his time in, Southampton General (co-funded by Abby's Heroes charity) and at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. We then hope to offer even more to brighten sick children's time in hospital.
We aim to raise £5000 in order to become a registered charity and then continue to fundraising to meet the yearly requirement to fund a music therapist and more and bring smiles to many children's faces.
