A Miracle of Hope for George Gianinni. George has ALS but is still a leader in our office. He's wonderfully inspiring and positive in spite of his situation.
George learned my family had made a pilgrimage to Lourdes, France - a holy site where the Virgen Mary appeared to a poor farm girl named Bernadette. George said he wanted to go there too but needed help given his physical challenges.
George's ALS (aka Lou Gerhig's Desease) has over time, affected his ability to speak and move. But his amazing smile never goes away! See his photo and the big smile? Despite this challenge, his wit, wisdom, and knowledge - which he shares via a talking iPad - are as sharp as ever.
So we prayed and realized it would be wonderful if we could help George get to Lourdes - a place of hope, miracles and healing - sometimes physical, always emotional and spiritual.
Millions of disabled and ill pilgrims visit yearly. In fact, about 6 million folks visit this holy site each year. And Lourdes has volunteers along with the appropriate facilities to help pilgrims, like George, once they arrive.
Would you help us? We hope you say yes by just praying for George Our Pilgrim. Can you do more? If so, please do. All donation amounts are welcome. $1, $5 or whatever you can afford. We appreciate it all.
The money raised will help George take advantage of the Lourdes Volunteers of North America group support. They assist with the medical attention during travel, providing nurses and doctors. Your donation will help offset the costs to make this Miracle of Hope come true.
George's trip is scheduled for October 2015 for 1 week. The cost is about $4000 and we'd like to send him and his companion/care giver as well. That's why our goal is $9000.00.
