George "The Smorgasbord" Chiger Needs Our Help

As many of you know, I'm a close friend of George "The Smorgasbord" Chiger. Here's what's going on and the reason for me starting this GoFundMe for him... Due to a chain of back-to-back unfortunate Covid-related events, spanning quite a length of time, George is about to be evicted from his home.

At the same time this nightmare began, the surgery that would enable him to be able to seek employment again was cancelled and his disability benefits ended, leaving him with no income and no medical insurance. He recently underwent surgical amputation of one toe and is scheduled in April for the first of multiple surgeries to correct the current medical issues that he is enduring.

He and I spent several hours recently speaking with numerous representatives in government assistance offices in an attempt to get him financial help, only to learn that because he won't be disabled for more than a year, his condition is not "life-threatening" and he has no minor children and he's not over 65 years old, there is absolutely no aid for a person in "his situation," so, eviction is inevitable.

Because of George's inability to work, on top of not qualifying for any assistance other than medical insurance, I'm asking each person that sees this post to find it in their heart to donate. There is power in numbers. Together, we can make a huge difference! If we all make a small contribution in this effort to help this great guy, we'll enable him to find adequate housing and help with utilities while he recovers from his upcoming surgeries that will allow him to return to the workforce.
