Georgia's House

As most of you know, Cheyna and Chad lost their daughter, Georgia, this November. She was born prematurely and ultimately died from complications due to pneumonia. What you may not know, however, is the incredible gift they were given by two people who were previously completely unknown to them. For any family who as ever spent any time in a NICU, proximity to your baby is perhaps the most important part of feeling some sense of peace in a situation over which you have no control.
Unfortunately, finding that proximity can be a significant challenge, as often families lack resources to secure such lodging. When they were looking for a long term living arrangement after the birth of their daughter, Anita and Eric Anderson were introduced to them through a mutual friend. They primarily live in the Lakewood area, but also own a home in Allouez a short distance from St. Vincent's hospital - the NICU where baby Georgia was being cared for. Through sheer kindness and uncommon goodness, they opened this home up to Cheyna and Chad with no strings attached.
The home had NEVER been used like this before. It became - for all too brief a time, a real home. It was a place of respite when they needed it most, and maybe most importantly, less than 2 minutes away from the hospital when they would get those 3 a.m. phone calls telling them they needed to get there quickly.
Chad and Cheyna decided early on that they needed to do what they could to make sure that other families who were going through such a difficult time had access to a home as well. That is why Chad and Cheyna have begun setting up Georgia's House, a non-profit organization with the goal of purchasing the very same house they stayed in to be used as a full time NICU family home. They have been working with the Anderson family to ensure that this happens.
