Georgia's New Wheelchair

Hi, my name is Georgia and I am fundraising for a new electric wheelchair as my current one is now 9 years old and to be honest it is falling apart in the last year we have put over £2000 into trying to fix the chair but now the battery has gone so we have decided it is time for me to fundraise for a new chair! A little bit of background as to why I need to fundraise and why I cannot access one through the nhs. Firstly I need my wheelchair to mobalise indoors and outdoors as I cannot stand at all due to multiple health conditions. I cannot get a chair on the nhs as I am epileptic and their criteria is that you have to be a year seizure free before they will give you a powerchair that I would be able to use outside of the house. I have been told by wheelchair services that they can provide a chair for indoor use only but they would cut the speed limit to 2mph and I was told if i was caught using it outside it would be taken from me which is just ridiculous as my wheelchair gives me my independence.

Due to my epilepsy I do need a chair that has two controllers on so that if I was to fit someone else could control my wheelchair for me but again the nhs are refusing to help us in any way at this time. I also need a chair that can rise and fall so I can reach higher cupboards in my home or higher shelfs in a shop for example. I also require a chair that can tilt back and almost lay flat so I can be as safe as possible when seizing/unwell. I currently have the invacare tdx2 and whilst it was working it has been such life changer... I feel like I can be more independent and wheel around after my two young children!

We are setting up this go fund me but we will also be doing a fun day (in our local town) and even a spooky walk over halloween where there will be live actors for an amazing scare! Of course I know not everyone is going to live close to me so I am still trying to think of other ways that we can include my online community!

I just want to say before anyone donates that I am so thankful for you! Sadly I am, not in a position to pay around £8000 for a new chair so anything towards my new chair is a massive help be that little or small! I am thankful to you all!<3
