Abused and Neglected Bulldog Rescue

Some of you have asked the full history behind Mike, Melissa, and Noah rescuing Georgia. When we bought the property in Maysville, there was a house at the end of the road with a dog pen holding a bulldog and a pug. One day, we went by and the bulldog was outside the pen. She was so skinny, we knew she was just starving, so we stopped and fed her some sausage biscuits we had. Then, she stopped being in the pen and would lie across the road by the mailbox or in the yard.... Jenny put food there for her a couple of times, and then Melissa started watching her. It appeared she was at the house alone, no cars, no people, no food, and no water. Melissa and Noah took food and left it for her. On one occasion when they went to feed her, a lady was home. The lady said the dog had been her son's, but he had moved away. Noah talked about how long he had been wanting a bulldog and the lady asked him if he wanted Georgia! The lady also said Georgia had just finished nursing a litter of puppies. (Not!) They took her with them and after washing off hundreds of fleas and pulling ticks, began to nurture her. She had a nasty wound on the top of her head and it was severely infected. He head and eyes were swollen and her head was literally saturated with pus. They took her to the vet and the wound was so deep into the skull, surgery was required to try and clean out the infection before she became septic. The vet said the puppies might not survive the surgery. Georgia came through fine and her head is healing. Yesterday, she began having her pups as you all know. Jenny found out some history about her this morning. There was a young man at her old home and Jenny stopped to ask about Georgia. He said he got her when she was 5 months old and had her for less than a year. He had to move away and couldn't take her with him. Jenny asked about the wound on Georgia's head and he said those "&%^*#^#%! behind us hit her with something, maybe a crowbar. He said she had bred with a boxer so that's good news that her puppies are all bulldog at least. He said this is her first litter (fyi, it will be her only litter). He also asked if she was in a good home and seemed happy when Jenny showed him FB pics of where Georgia was. He said his Mom couldn't keep her in the pen and his Mom just got tired of feeding and watering her. But, even so, when he was there and taking care of her is when we saw her so emaciated, so he didn't do such a hot job of feeding her either in my book.

Now, Georgia has an extremely dangerous infection. We have her at home on an IV with antibiotics and we are bottle feeding the puppies We are feeding puppies every 2 hours and we found someone to be a surrogate for the smallest 5 puppies to nurse.
Not sure if the antibiotics will work, but we are doing all we can.

Please, please, please share this story with everyone that you know. This sweet girl entered our lives when she needed us most, please let us help her live her life like a Queen in our house for the rest of her days. God Bless. Thank you <><
