Georgie Girl’s Battle

Georgie Girl is a 6 year old cockapoo who has a gentle spirit.  Her Mom Deb noticed a couple weeks ago she was becoming fussy with her food.  She tries to phase in a new food but noticed Georgie Girl was dropping weight quite fast so she made a vet appointment

Georgie and Deb visited the vet on Nov 8th and she had a check up, urinalysis and a basic blood panel that all came back good.  The vet was concerned with the weight loss so suggested a more in-depth test to check organs and would call with the results. 

 Deb and Georgie Girl literally just were arriving home when the call came no dog parents wants to get.  Her liver counts were off the charts and she was in acute liver failure.  The immediate protocol was to do sub-q fluids daily, liver supplements, a special diet and medications daily, along with a cab ride to and from vet daily treatment is upwards of $55 a day.  The vet urged Deb to take Georgie Girl to the Atlantic Vet College to see a specialist.

Deb is a single dog mom who just had some big life changes herself this past year and the financial of this is already quickly adding up.  Of course like all dog moms she wants to see the specialist to see if she can get more concrete answers, if there is a sliver of Hope for her very young Georgie Girl or if the only answer is daily treatments until the end.

It’s unfortunate the high costs of vet bills and that they can sometimes limit the choices you have to aid your baby.I want to start this fund to help her and Georgie Girl, to lift some weight off her shoulders of how to financially swing this as she faces a very uncertainty future for Georgie Girl.  Every bit of help would be greatly appreciated.
