Geovanny Lopez and Family

Geovanny Lopez, a freshman Loyola Cub (class of 2022), lost this mom to cancer. She was diagnosed just before Geo started as a freshman. She is the one who encouraged him to apply to Loyola and couldn’t be prouder. She said she would be his biggest cheerleader as he played football. Unfortunately, due to her illness she never got to see him practice, much less play football. She was proud of him nonetheless. Geo, his dad and sister are devastated because they always held out hope. Geo was particularly close to his mom and continues to try and cope. I’m sure anyone who has suffered a loss knows that it is a difficult time for him. 

We  are requesting assistance as Hugo, Geo’s father, is left with funeral and medical expenses as well as the responsibility of raising two children on his single income. If you don’t know Geo and his family, they are a humble and loving small family. Please know that whatever financial assistance you provide will help Geo and family get by just a little easier by being able to pay for medical, funeral and living expenses.
