Geraldine Caudill lost everything in fire

My name is Jamie I am Geradines granddaughter. There was a tragic house fire that shut down hwy 26 yesterday. How the fire started is still under investigation. Needless to say it was a complete loss. She has been there since 1951. She used to own the little cafe in manning that is now the dispensary. It was called Tom and Gerry's. Her husband was the late Duane Caudill. In 1975 she had a tragedy due to a fire up on this property where she had lost her son Rusty Caudill when he was 16 years old. Since she has been very pro active on the dangers of fire. She is now 89 and this time by the grace of God there was no fatalities. But she has been going through some financial hardships for the past 4 years with her grandson waiting for a kidney transplant. This has been a burden she was financially accepting all on herself. So in the process of all this she had canceled her homeowners insurance and was doing the bare minimum on other things because we hadn't had anything like this happen since 1975. She doesn't ask for handouts. And she has been doing all this with my grandfather's pension all these years. Well unfortunately it's not going to cover anything like this. I have never done something like this nor has she but in her case if anyone needs or deserves help it is her. She has always been so proud of her community and the people she loves in this community. So Thank you for listening.
