Geraldine "Gerri" Barber

On Wednesday January 10th at 3:20pm Gerri Barber was called home to our good LORD at her home in Weldon NC….with the presence of her husband and two children beside her. Her home was filled with her family warmth and love surrounding her. After a lengthy illness she is at peace now.

Gerri is survived by her loving husband Richard Hooper, daughter Katheen Storey, son Andrew Barber. Her siblings: Mary Ann Rafferty, Kathy Schoolcraft, Donna Conde, and Don McGrath. Also blessed with her two grandchildren Abbi and Evan Storey. Also, her two pet children – Daisy and Tiny.

Daughter of T. Donald-who served our country in the ARMY and POW and Ursula McGrath.

Gerri was born in Troy NY and raised in Scotia NY. Graduating from Mary McClellan Hospital school of nursing- Cambridge NY with her LPN licensed.

Gerri has done Life beautifully, beating every obstacle in her path because no matter how tough life got, she was always tougher! They told her “she couldn’t” …..so she did do it!!! Gerri shrugged because this stubbornly independent woman will never stop when it comes to fighting for what and who she believes in. She is known for brutal honesty- which we all need and will cherish.

Gerri was a woman who never stopped- no matter how exhausted or stressed she simply would roll up her sleeves and continued to move mountains. Like a phoenix, she ALWAYS rises.
