Keeping Dad's Dream Alive
Donation protected
On 8/22/2016, the world lost an amazing man - our father. Dad was the most generous of men, even when he had little to give and was loved by many. Dad lived modestly and gave generously.
A rare health issue led him to retirement at a young 55 years old, but Dad plugged on, never letting his health be an excuse to limit him from living each day with great love for all. He tinkered on cars, helping and teaching younger men (and women) how to repair their own automobiles.
During these years, our youngest sister (and evntually her husband) lived next door to dad; she just wanted to be close to dad.
One of his lifelong dreams was to get out of the city and back to the country, where he could live and till off the land. Having been raised on a farm, it was in his blood. This dream was realized just two short years ago, when he bought a 5 acre farm and Angie and Jim moved with him.
He did a lot in those two years and loved every minute. Just two weeks ago, he and our sister canned hundreds of quarts of food.
He had a few more health problems, but the original health issue that set him back 20 years ago is what ultimately took his life - way too young! It's hard to believe he is no longer with us, but the work of his hands and the love he extended will be felt for years to come.
The one request Dad had was for Angie and Jim to be able to stay on the farm, which will be his final resting place here on Earth. We are all doing everything we can to make that a reality. It does require a bit of funds and we know Dad would rather see his DREAM kept alive, so we ask:
In lieu of flowers, remember Dad for the loving man he was and donate to his DREAM.
We thank you and love you!
