Gerardo Alcantar - Kidney Transplant Fund
Donation protected
Gerardo Alcantar, will finally after 7 years, get the kidney transplant he has been waiting for. He has always been known as a very hard worker, and is know to help others. He loves and spoils his wife, daughters, and granddaughters. He loves to work in his garden, do arts and crafts, paint, and to do carpentry. Since his kidney failure, he has had to stop working and to stop doing a lot of the things he loves to do. His illness has definitely taken a toll on the quality of his life.
In the course of his journey, he has had multiple hospitalizations, multiple surgeries, broken bones, high and low blood pressure, blindness, among many other health issues. Including suffering with fatigue after dialysis, 3 times a week.
In the next couple of weeks, his transplant will be done out of state, and he will have to stay there to recover for about 5 to 8 weeks. With that comes many expenses such as transportation, food, lodging, as well as medication and doctor visit copay's.
We know that this transplant is not a cure, but it means the world to know, that it can help him live a more normal life. To know that he can feel better, gives us a measure of hope. His wife, daughters, and granddaughters really want him to be a part of their life for a long time.
Our family sincerely appreciates everyone’s support. Every bit helps and we are thankful for it.
