Geremy's Medical Fund
Donation protected
On a normal night of winding down from the day with dinner and Netflix this last March, Geremy became very ill. He only got worse as the night went. By 6am the next day, it was off to the ER. I had never seen a human in such a scary condition. We were very nervous about what the cause of this all could have been. After hours and hours of laying in the ER bed just worried sick about what was going on, he was admitted to the cardiovascular unit of Washington Regional Medical Center. We were soon to be told that Geremy had Wolf Parkinsons White Syndrome which for lack of better words means he has an extra electrical pathway in the heart causing him to also have Supra Ventricular Tachycardia which means rapid heartbeat. The highest his heart rate has been was 270 bpm. It could of killed him and would of if we hadn't rushed to the ER that early morning. Geremy is one of the hardest workers I have ever met. Working 40+ hours a week while being a student is a tough task for someone in his medical condition. Here are some numbers just to give a little insight on what we are working with... Each surgery cost anywhere from $15,000-$20,000 not including the hospital stay which has been 2-7 days. He has had two surgeries and the third has been scheduled for December. Each ER visit is roughly around $1,000-$1,500. He has had 10-12 visits since March. That alone total is around $60,000. This doesn't include every doctor office visit or all the medication he has had to take or is still currently taking. All without insurance. I know I am asking a lot but $40,000 is just a fraction of what we will be paying by the time this is all set and done- whenever that may be. We both work full time and are students. But working full time doesn't even put a dent in the cost of everything. Geremy is one of the most loving, happy, compassionate, and caring people I have ever met. But seeing him get very low every time he or I open a new medical bill or already existing asking us to pay has broken my heart one too many times. That's where you come in. I am asking for as much help as I can get. Geremy is my world and I need to keep him around no matter what or how many surgeries it takes. He has applied for insurance and been denied. So trust me when I say we have tried. Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated. $1, $5, or even $100. We are very grateful for your help. I know Geremy has helped a ton of people and now is the time he needs your help. He doesn't ask much of me nor anyone else. He works so hard and to see him so distraught and in a huge amount of pain when his heart has an episode has got to stop. He is far too young to have to live this way. Now is the time he needs your help more than ever. So, if you feel lead, please make a friendly donation. Regardless if you can donate or not, PLEASE share this on all social media to help get the word out for Geremy and to educate people on WPW. This money is strictly towards medical bills. Throughout this process, we both have been posting on social media to keep everyone in formed. During this time, if you would like to know how he is doing, feel free to add me on Facebook for updates or you can personally email me at the given email on the account anytime to ask how he is doing or know more of his story.
