Gerry Blood

Gerry H. Blood Jr., my Dad, my biggest childhood hero was unexpectedly diagnosed with colon cancer about a month ago. He’s been the pastor of Englewood Assembly of God in Rocky Mount, NC for 20 years and was a youth minister and crew chief on fighter jets in the Air Force prior to that. The news has come as a surprise to many as he is still very active and plays hockey multiple times a week. You can find him at the church any day of the week planning sermons and special events, doing yard work and maintenance. Otherwise he’s visiting those in the hospital, in nursing homes, and others in need. He will be having surgery May 15. Please consider helping to lighten the financial burden on him and my mother. But if you cannot, please pray for a favorable outcome during his surgery next week: that recovery would be swift and that the doctor will say there is no need for chemotherapy.
