Gerry Dores Memorial Funds

On December 31st 2020 there was a tragic fire at an apartment building in Duncan BC many people had to flee their homes some ended up in the hospital but the most tragic part of it all was my father lost his life. It's suspected that his oxygen tank with ignited 4 reasons at this point in time or unknown. This is a tragic loss I'm a very shocking and painful one. My father was my best friend I love him very much he was a good man who did a lot for the street people and has done so for many many years. He was a good person with a good heart that wanted the best for people that a lot just forget about I grew up watching my dad do Street Outreach and it inspired me to do the same whenever somebody was in need my dad was there to help them whether it was to feed them talk to them hug them show them that they were cared about and that they meant something and never let them go without that thought , my father was a truly good man and it's a real tragedy that the world has lost such a wonderful person. I am creating this GoFundMe in the hopes then I can possibly ask the community to help me give my father the proper Memorial and funeral that he deserves, I understand that during this time that a lot of us are struggling but now my family is really struggling we're struggling to figure out how we're going to go on without having him around we're struggling to cope with the fact that this was a tragic accident that should have never happened almost to while we're struggling with the fact of how will we pay for all the costs of everything that comes with putting him to rest. My father was well-known and well-liked by many many people in the community in which he lived in Victoria, Port Alberni and Duncan BC we're all places that he'd called home and I imagine they're all places that are filled with memories of him, my father always made an impression with people and for that special reason I don't want his memory to just fade away I want people to be able to come together in this time and find a way that we can find closure and Say Goodbye together I'm asking if you can please help donate towards a memorial and his funeral cost. We are hoping that we can receive the help we need, but most of all we are hoping no matter what he will never be forgotten that he will live on in the thoughts and memories of all the lives that he ever touched. Please feel free to send me memories that you may have him my goal is to get enough to cover the cost of a funeral a very small one at that but also to print out a book that we can can put together of memories and pictures that's so many have with him and then we can share it with everyone so they can always have a piece of him with them. I do hope that everyone else who was a victim of the tragic fire will soon be okay and that they able to put their lives back together just as we are trying to do so to and with your help we can thank you and may God bless you.
