Gerry McGee,

Legendary Guitar Player, loving Father, Brother, and Friend....

Since the 1960's he has touched the many lives of people from all around the world. He has recorded with such artist as Elvis Presley, Eric Clapton, Delaney and Bonnie, The Monkees, Kris Kristofferson, The Ventures, among many other famous artist. In 2011 he was inducted into the Louisianna Music Hall of Fame as well as The Rock and Roll Music Hall of Fame.




I am the eldest son, Sean, (on the right) and I am creating a memorial tribute in honor of my fathers' amazing career and for the people whose lives he touched. 

On October 12, 2019,  My dad past away after suffering a heart attack while on stage, rehearsing for a scheduled show. He was on a solo tour in Japan.


The tour was scheduled to continue  on or near October 17th. He collapsed on Oct 8th but fell into a coma. We were unable to fly out to Japan due to one of the biggest typhoons to ever hit Japan in decades. The typhoon basically remained stationary for a few days as if it were blocking our path. Strangely, as soon as we received news of his passing, the typhoon had moved on.

The funding was going to be used for the expense of creating a memorial service including the rentals, staffing, food, Video live streaming, Music by well known artist for the friends, family and the fans of Gerry McGee. However, The funding wasn't enough to cover those expenses. We do have other expenses incurred that we will apply the funds to. We thank you again during this difficult time and we are overwhelmed by the love and support!
