Gerry's Support Fund
Donation protected
As you know, our good friend Gerry Halton has been suffering with Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and Parkinsons disease for the last number of years. Gerry has been a stalworth of Naas GAA , Naas AC and Naas Parkrun over many years. Gerry gave freely and willingly of his time, energy and good humour and he has touched the lives of many in many positive ways.
Gerry’s care needs have increased as his condition has developed. He now needs significant additional professional care well beyond what his family can provide. The state provides some support but nowhere near enough to meet his needs. In particular, Marie and Gerry need overnight professional support to help manage Gerrys time at home.
We are asking you to contribute to a “Go Fund Me” page (see link below) that will be used to directly pay for overnight professional care for Gerry.
What can you do?
You can make a personal contribution through the “Go Fund Me” page or better still you can organise a fundraising event and get others to contribute.
You can organise a challenge match
You can organise a coffee morning
You can organise a fun (or competitive!) run
You can organise a table quiz
You can organise a disco (Gerry loves his music)
Please spread the word and let’s show our support to a fellow athlete and his family.
For your information Go Fund Me charge 25 cent plus 2.9% per donation to cover their administration costs. We have built this into our assumptions and so there is no need to make an additional contribution beyond your personal donation.
Many thanks
