Gervontae Tilson Family support

July 23rd at 11:00 pm, my 15 year old son was hunted down and murdered. Ger’Vontae was intelligent, brave, talented, loving, kind-hearted and extremely loved. He loved basketball, making music which he was so good at, and being a goofball. His laugh was contagious. His smile and eyes would light up the darkest room. His favorite person is his autistic brother, who he would always say is perfect and genius and is too busy thinking of a master plan to talk. He adored his 8 year old sister, who is our only girl. He was his 14 year old brother's best friend, as they grew up neck in neck in age, only 11 months apart. They play fought constantly, driving each other crazy, inseparable. Ger’Vontae was a momma’s boy who would sit on my lap even though he was much taller than me when his belly hurt. He wanted me to scratch his head often while he laid on my lap. His father was his hero, as any little boy's father would be. Growing up, Tae lived with both parents in Johnston, RI, and West Warwick. He was a sweet boy who had so much life to live and so much love to give. He was a soon to be father with a daughter on the way. Everyone who knew him loved him and felt love back. Losing this light darkened the world for many of us. This is a hard loss to handle.
