Hi!
My Name is Devlin, I have been nominated by my Science Teacher Dr. Freed to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington D.C. during the summer of 2017!!! I really want to go!
My mom works extremely hard to try to provide all of my needs every day but can not afford this trip. We need at least $3,500! I know it’s a lot of money but it would be a trip that will change my life.
This money would pay the tuition (includes boarding/meals) which is $2,195, the tuition/travel protection plan which cost $129, approximately $700 for airfare & shuttle costs (includes unaccompanied minor fees), and finally an additional $300-$500 for the special uniforms, souvenirs money, plus other incidentals. I have applied for a scholarship to attend but it is very competitive.
This would mean the world to me because I want to be a better leader. I want to change the world . I want to be a great leader everyday and as a journalist when I’m older.
This trip is a once in a lifetime opportunity. During this trip I will do lots of things! I would make many new friends, have a hotel room at the 4-H conference center that I would share with 2-3 others. I would travel to many places such as, Harpers Ferry, U.S. Capitol Visitor Center, Exhibition Hall, Emancipation Hall, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and lastly the Korean War Memorial, and more! We will even get to spend the night at the Maryland Science CenterI would get to hear Keynote Speaker Anthony Robles, a Wrestling Champion that defies the odds with only one leg. I would also have many classes and learn so much about leadership. None of this will be able to happen though without your help.
I have to have $500.00 for the deposit as soon as possible to make sure I get a spot, but I HAVE to have it by November 16th! I would really love to take this trip!! Any donation will help, thank you so much!!!
