Owner-Operator Semi Truck driver of Joeydagreat Transport is in dire need of your help in getting his truck fixed and back on the road after an unexpected transmission breakdown that has him, his passenger and his dog stranded at a truck stop in Gary, Indiana desperate for help.

Hi, my name is Joey Merritt and I'm a dedicated owner-operator of Joeydagreat Transport. I’ve hit rock bottom.

What started out as a routine trip has turned into a nightmare. After shelling out a staggering $9,500 for an unexpected transmission and water pump repair at a Freightliner dealership in Springdale, AR on July 12th, I was barely back on the road when disaster struck again.

On July 22nd, just about 1600 miles later, my truck's transmission completely failed, leaving me, my passenger, and my dog (MZ. kitty, a 2 year old Lilac Pocket Bully) stranded in the blistering heat of South Holland, Illinois. With dwindling funds and limited food, we endured three agonizing days at a truck stop, forced to keep the engine running for survival.

Desperate for help, I managed to scrape together $500 for a tow 21 miles to another Freightliner dealership, only to be hit with an additional repair estimate of $4,818.40 to replace the shift controller on my transmission.

This is a crushing blow after already facing insurmountable financial hardship.

I've poured my heart and soul into this business, helping several stranded motorists along the way at no charge, whether it’s running into a blazing car fire to save someone’s life or a simple tire change. Just doing what God wants me to do. My blessings come from Him.

I’ve been driving tirelessly to rebuild after the devastating impact of the pandemic. Soaring inflation and fuel prices have only made things tougher. Now, with a mountain of credit card debt and looming bills, I fear losing everything I've worked so hard for.

To make matters worse, my leasing company has abandoned me, refusing to assist with the repairs. This truck cost me $183.000.00 and is due to be paid off on 12-24 which is 5 months from now. I was threatened by my leasing company, that they would have to take the truck back if I can’t make the repairs to finish out my contract which is a win-win for them. Unbelievable.

After four years of consistent payments, I'm on the brink of losing my truck, my livelihood, and my ability to provide for my family.
