Hello,
My name is Kyikyi & I am a small business owner, aspiring to build the first woman-owned Tibetan food brand in the US; specializing in ready-to-cook Himalayan Dumplings & Tibetan handpies.
Background: I worked 70 hours a week for a couple of years before launching my small business to squirrel away and save up for startup capital.
Being a refugee & immigrant; hard work & challenges is not new to me. I still work every single day and have always tried to make the best with what little I have; and over the past year or so since launch; I have managed to slowly upgrade my cookware, kitchen equipment & build out a small Himalayan Dumpling factory & cafe through a combination of my life savings, micro family loans & putting back into the business every single penny from sales.
Unfortunately, my small dough mixer gave out from the overuse & broke beyond repair; at a stage of my small business journey, where I cannot afford a big expense like this.
I make all my Himalayan Dumplings, Tibetan handpies & dipping hot sauces from scratch & the dough mixer is a really crucial for my small business to operate, as I make my wrappers from scratch.
In the spirit of of the same transparency that I share of my small business #immigrantdream journey on my FB page & IG Insta page , here's the breakdown of what your contribution will help towards:
- Used Hobart 60 Quart Dough Mixer: $7,900
- Electrical Installation services for 3 phase outlet + city permit: $1,700
My aspiration to grow the first national brand celebrating Tibetan cuisine & culture is rooted in my desire for cultural representation & also culture preservation of our at-risk Tibetan heritage.
Thank you for giving this immigrant mom a fighting chance to break ceilings & continue building the first woman-owned Tibetan food brand in the US, one Himalayan Dumpling at a time
