Get A Taper To Mexico

Hey everyone! My name is Zak and I’m a taper for DMB. After talking with some of the moderators and some friends, I've decided to start a collection to fund getting the Mexico shows taped. For transparency, I will not be handling any of the money and if the cost is not reached, all funds will be returned. If money is raised above and beyond what is needed for me to go, it will be donated to Bama Works and receipts will be provided.

Mexico has never been recorded before and I want to make sure all of the equipment is run correctly and that the DMB fandom is able to hear these shows forever. The variety of songs performed at these shows, and never performed again, make them some of the rarest performances out there. I have happily spent thousands of dollars to make sure that shows have been covered all over the United States so that these shows have full high quality audio to be remembered by.

Since 2020, I've recorded 20 different DMB shows, some of which would have never been captured had a taper not been there. Amongst us tapers, we had a goal in 2021 to have every show recorded. I was instrumental in helping make sure that all 2021 DMB gigs were taped. Without the push from the small group of us, there were a couple of dates that almost didn't get covered this year. Albuquerque, Gorge, Railbird, Alpharetta, Merriwether, Summerfest, Irvine, Colorado, and Pittsburgh would have gone untaped had we all not pooled our resources to get the music to the fans.

I've been torn about this idea of "crowdfunding" these shows. Those that know me know I am deeply passionate about this band and how much work I've done for the fanbase as a whole. If you decide to donate to this fund, I will make sure to credit you in the recording notes.

The plan is to find the least expensive package, which seems to be taking a spot in someone’s room where they had someone who could no longer attend. If anyone has any other ideas, please share!
