GET ALRA NORTH 3RD YEARS TO LONDON SHOWCASE
Donation protected
Hello and thank you for taking the time to read our story!
As I'm sure a lot of you are aware, ALRA closed their doors on Monday 4th April 2022, leaving the students distressed and confused about how their time at drama school would be completed.
The news took Twitter by storm. We were completely inundated with offers of kindness and support, particularly to us third year students who are only a term away from completing our degrees and heading into the industry!
A lot of the conversations we have had with industry and their advice was to get a showcase together and try and have another opportunity to perform in London to a wider audience - something that we weren't able to do during our time at ALRA.
Fortunately, through these amazing offers, the Creative Learning Producer for ATG, offered us use of ATG's Fortune Theatre for us to perform and invite industry (and friends and family) to a showcase!
This is going to take place on Monday 20th June 2022.
Now, this is where you come in! As the students are setting this up, we have no funding from our school to be able to get everyone down to London. So many of the students at ALRA North decided to go to this campus because it is a lot more affordable, and there are a lot of students from working-class and diverse backgrounds. Many of the students work 1 or 2 jobs alongside studying just to be able to see themselves through the course. This is why any support that you could give us would be greatly appreciated.
The £3,000 target would enable us to pay for our train tickets down to London and for 1 night's accommodation in a hostel the evening before as we are due in the theatre at 9am.
We already feel so supported and lifted up by the industry and this last push will allow us to go out with a bang and hopefully allow students that haven’t yet been signed by agents have that opportunity!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and we hope you can join us on Monday 20th June!
All the best,
